Laura's a breastfeeding star

Next time Laura Taylor gets on a bus, passengers may well do a double-take.

For this mum from Preston is to become the star of a breastfeeding campaign.

Laura, 19, is one of five young Lancashire mums who have become models to raise awareness of the health benefits of breastfeeding to both mother and baby.

She has been breastfeeding her five-month-old daughter Emily since her birth and is now urging other women to do the same.

Laura, of Ripon Street, Preston, will see glamorous photos of herself emblazoned on posters, bus shelters, buses, shopping centres and in GP surgeries and libraries.

Laura, who is engaged to boyfriend Anthony Nightingale, says Emily was an unplanned baby, but is the best thing that has ever happened to her.

She said: "I absolutely love being a mum. It is the best thing in the world. Emily is lovely and a complete joy to have.

"I think breastfeeding is brilliant as it is easy, convenient and is the best thing for Emily and me."

Supporting the campaign is a 24-hour breastfeeding support line on 01254 772929.
