LATEST: Nigel Evans wins Ribble Valley for Conservatives

TORY Nigel Evans has hung on to his Ribble Valley seat, despite a reduced majority.

Mr Evans, who has represented the constituency since 1992, received 25,404 votes, down from 26,298 from the 2010 general election.

He won a comfortable victory over his Labour challenger David Hinder, who polled 11,798.

Shirley Parkinson of the UK Independence Party came third with 8,250 votes.

She was followed by Liberal Democrat Jackie Pearcey (2,756) Green Graham Sowter (2,193) David Brass, Independent, (1,498), Grace Astley, Independent, (288) and Tony Johnson, Independent Political Alliance Party (56).
