The family of a Lancashire teenager killed in a road tragedy tonight paid tribute to their daughter.
Shelby Maher, aged 17, died following a collision with a car in Brockholes Brow, Preston, on Wednesday night.
Rachel Murphy, aged 23, also died after she collided with a BMW while crossing the road.
Shelby, of Preston, was taken to Royal Preston Hosital where she later died.
Her family said in a statement via Lancashire police: “The family of 17 year old Shelby Lauren Maher are devastated by the loss of a daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin.
“Shelby was the eldest of two daughters to Melanie Maher.
“Shelby could be shy with those that she did not know, however once she did know you, she could be the best friend you could ever wish for. Shelby loved to sing and loved her music.
“Our family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, cards and flowers.
“Shelby will be missed by many and our family would like some privacy at this time so that we can come to terms with our loss.”
