Lancashire firm builds pink horsebox for Katie Price

Glamour girl Katie Price is in the pink – and it's all thanks to a Lancashire firm.

It took them two months of hard work in top secret to handcraft her latest purchase – a custom-built 120,000 "Barbie" horsebox.

The eye-catching luxury van was delivered to Katie, aka Jordan's, Brighton home personally by David Beckett, general manager at Hesketh Bank-based Prestige Horseboxes.

And the horse-mad mum of three was so delighted with it, she moved a fashion shoot inside it to show off the hand-dyed pearlescent pink interior.

The four-berth living quarters also include a double bed, fully-fitted top of the range kitchen and high spec ensuite bathroom.

The soft leather skins for the personalised sofas and matching cushions had to be specially dyed to match the exterior paintwork.

David is used to tailoring to the needs of wealthy horselovers, but he doesn't get many clients like Katie.

He said: "We were exhibiting at The British Open (showjumping show) and she came over and started talking.

"So, we sat down and met her people and then went over to Mayfair in London."

The horsebox, in full Katie Price Equestrian colours, took nine weeks to build and all the work was carried out in secret behind closed doors at the 15-strong firm's base in Hesketh Bank.

The sumptuous horsebox has Katie's logos in metallic silver, stainless steel radiators and full central heating, with air conditioning for the horses.

David added: "Katie was great to work with though. She knows what she wants and is prepared to pay for it, which is really good and makes it easy to work with.

"We dropped it off for her in Brighton on Tuesday and she absolutely loved it.

"It was a lot better than she expected. She changed her fashion shoot to do it inside."

He added that the star, currently involved in a high-profile break-up with estranged husband Peter Andre, was "great".

He said: " She is the most down-to-earth person you will ever meet."
