Lancashire’s new Bishop, Rt Rev Julian Henderson, and his wife Heather will attend the Fleetwood clash with Portsmouth at Highbury Stadium on Saturday.
The visit is the third of a series the new Bishop is making to football league clubs, as part of an orientation tour of the whole County which has been ongoing since his appointment in October 2013.
So far the Bishop has visited Blackburn Rovers FC and Blackpool FC.
Bishop Julian and Heather will be hosted tomorrow by Vice-Chairman Phil Brown and will also meet with club chaplain Rev. George Ayoma.
The Bishop said: “We were delighted to be invited by Fleetwood to attend the match and wish them success in the game and for the rest of the season.”
A spokesman for Fleetwood said today: “We were pleased Bishop Julian and his wife were able to accept our invitation to attend the match on Saturday.
“Football fans everywhere, not just at Fleetwood, will appreciate this gesture and all the fans attending on Saturday will make the new Bishop feel at home by giving him a traditional warm Lancashire welcome.”
