A photographer has been highly commended in a national competition.

Lynn Fotheringham, from Over Kellet, north Lancashire, was awarded one of nine ‘highly commended’ spots in National Accident Helpline’s competition.

She said: “This was the first morning of the year. We could feel heat from the sun; the dog was loving the morning and was alert to the possibility of hunting for rabbits for the first time this year.”

The competition was judged by Photography Monthly Magazine, who said: “We love how the
photographer has captured the light, creating the dog to become a silhouette.”

Beth Powell, marketing
director for National
Accident Helpline, said: “We asked entrants to send us a photo which summed up the idea of a ‘fresh start’. With a total of 261 entries, we were overwhelmed by the volume, and the high quality, of the response.”
