A Lancashire MP has sponsored a parliamentary motion backing the White Ribbon Campaign, which seeks to end violence against women and girls.
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has put her name to the motion, calling on the government to support and work with the campaign.
She urged others to join her in supporting the campaign and said: “Violence against women and girls must end, right now, no excuses.
“Violence must never be condoned or accepted and particularly that against women and girls who are often most vulnerable. The White Ribbon Campaign is an excellent initiative putting men at the heart of stopping this violence and must be recognised and supported.
“I would urge everyone to join me in supporting the campaign and taking their pledge to never commit, condone or ignore violence against women and girls in all its forms.”
The White Ribbon Campaign is a charity devoted to ending violence against women and girls by including men in the solution, through condemning and reporting suspected incidents of violence.
