If it’s June, it’s birthday time for one family as they celebrate a 30th, 60th and 90th all in a month.
When Aimee Lawrenson, of De Trafford Place, Croston, turns 30 next Monday, she will bring to an end a month of cards, cakes and candles.
Her dad, retired school teacher Mark Gilfoyle, was 60 on June 2 and his father-in-law Ronnie Iddon turned 90 on June 13.
Mark, who lives in Leyland with wife Carol, said: “It’s unusual all in the same month. We have so many cards and gifts and people getting in touch. It’s been brilliant.”
Ronnie, who lives in an annexe at the side of Mark and Carol’s home, worked at the old Leyland and Birmingham Rubber Company and was in India in the Second World War. But he should not be with the family, according to doctors.
“He’s a very, very lucky man,” said Mark. “At 62, he had a major aortic aneurysm and they told us he would not live until the following morning. He was in intensive care for a week and he survived and now more than 25 years on he’s celebrated his 90th birthday.”
Mark spends much of his time renovating houses and is due to appear on TV’s Homes Under The Hammer.
Meanwhile, there is to be a new addition to the family – art teacher Aimee is expecting.
“That would mean we potentially have a future 30, 60, 90, 120,” joked Mark.
