Local cyclists welcomed Team GB rider Leon Gledhill and Welsh National team rider Gwyn Lovibond to the Sky Ride Local ride in Preston.

Both riders belong to the Wallis Cycles racing team who were there to support the Lancashire Cycle Challenge.

The Lancashire Cycle Challenge runs until July 6 and encourages people to try cycling for just 10 minutes at any time during the three week period. People can register as an individual or as part of their workplace.

Karen Harvey of the Cycle Challenge said: “It was inspiring to meet two such young national cyclists who are no doubt our future Olympic talent for many years to come.”

Two ‘try a bike’ roadshows will take place in Preston on the Flag Market on June 26 and in Lancaster on Dalton Square on June 27.
