Bumper crowds filled Lancashire’s parks this weekend as temperatures topped 20C – but forecasters are warning of stormy weather ahead.
Crowds enjoyed the sun in Avenham Park on Saturday, which was the hottest day of the year so far.
But after a weekend of bright sunshine and clear skies, stormier conditions are being predicted by the Met Office.
Helen Roberts, a Met Office forecaster, said: “The general trend throughout this week is getting gradually more unsettled, with showers starting in the south west on Monday and moving north and eastwards on Tuesday. Then we can see showers just about anywhere throughout the rest of the week.
“It’s looking like it’s probably going to remain unsettled through to the weekend and into the week after.”
