Jason's 1,100 mile marathon for emily

A Walmer Bridge man has raised over £1,000 for his three-year-old cousin who has a rare genetic condition.

Jason Eastham, 27, of Sea View, completed a 1,100- solo cycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End in aid of Emily Robinson, of Moss Lane in Lostock Hall.

Emily was born with lissencephaly. She has to use a wheelchair, can't speak and suffers from severe epilepsy.

The money will go towards 15,000 needed to build an adapted bathroom in Emily's family home.

Her parents Jane and Stuart have helped to organise a fun day at the Anchor pub, Croston Road, on Sunday from 12pm.

There will be a bouncy castle, BBQ and play area during the day and a race night and play your cards right in the evening.
