Hoghton Tower hosted a re-enactment of the Battle of Preston.

This year sees the 300th anniversary of the last battle on English soil and a decisive moment in the first Jacobite Rising.

The event was organised to be a great family day out as well as being a way for people to learn more about their local history

Working with Preston City Council and the Harris Museum, the event – held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday – was part of a project raising awareness of the importance of Preston as a battlefield and the impact it had on the old town.
