Lancashire Teaching Hospitals has received high scores in a new national patient-led assessment of the patient environment and catering services in hospitals.
Both Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospitals scored nearly 100% on cleanliness in the 2013 Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment programme which has published the results on the Health and Social Care Information Centre website. The national average for cleanliness was 95.74%.
The new assessments replaced the Patient Environment Action Team programme in April. The self assessments included at least 50 per cent members of the public.
