The Chairman of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust John Cowdall is standing down from the role.
Mr Cowdall said: “By the end of June, the Trust will have prepared its plans for Better Care Together and I believe that this is now the right time for me to hand over to a new person to lead the Board and Council of Governors in the delivery phase of this work programme.
“It has been hugely satisfying to see first-hand the progress made at improving areas such as safety, governance, finance and patient experience and I am now looking forward to spending more time with my family.”
He said: “I’ve been privileged to be the chairman of the Trust for the last 17 months.”
Mr Cowdall will be in post until June 30.
John Hutton, the deputy chairman of the Trust will assume responsibilities while a successor is recruited.
