Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating its 10 year anniversary of welcoming Manchester medical students into the trust.
The hospital trust was the first in Lancashire to be awarded teaching hospital status.
Working in partnership with The University of Manchester, the trust has seen more than 500 students come into its hospitals and graduate as doctors over the last decade.
It can now offer up to 300 places each year and many of these locally trained doctors are also choosing to live and work within the Preston area after they have qualified.
Prof Mark Pugh, hospital Dean said: “I’m so proud to see how the Manchester programme has developed over the last 10 years and it’s great to see how our students have used the skills to progress their careers.
“As part of the admissions process students can put forward a preference to be allocated to Preston in their three clinical years.”
