Holiday Inn join in Rosemere's Walk in the Dark

Staff at Preston's Holiday Inn Hotel have made a special reservation for Rosemere Cancer Foundation by transforming the building's exterior wall into a billboard to highlight the charity's upcoming Walk in the Dark fund-raiser.

As a team from the hotel are taking part in the 11-mile walk, they adorned the wall with a vinyl banner promoting the event, which starts out at 9pm on Saturday, April 29, from Chorley General Hospital to finish at the Royal Preston Hospital.

Staff are also planning to host a fund-raising afternoon tea in June.

In addition, there are posters in the hotel encouraging guests’ text donations to the charity, text donation messages appear on invoices with pop up banners, leaflets and collection tins positioned in the foyer and its business hub – a plethora of support that started this month and will continue until the end of June.

Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s corporate fund-raising manager, said: “We are currently one of Preston’s Holiday Inn’s chosen charities for which we are extremely grateful.

“As a business, they are helping us to raise our profile and awareness of one of our major fund-raising events rather than giving us a big financial donation. It goes to show that there are lots of ways for the corporate community to partner with us to everyone’s mutual benefit.”

The Holiday Inn chose to support Rosemere Cancer Foundation after learning of its 20 Years Anniversary Appeal, which is raising funds for the world’s most advanced robotic surgical system and a state-of-the-art research facility.

In addition, the appeal is raising money to redevelop Rosemere Cancer Centre’s in-patient Ribblesdale Ward.
