Folk in Chorley are benefiting from a new scheme to help them pay the cost of their energy bills.

Residents are said to be saving an average of more than £150 on their annual bills.

The one-to-one service helps people search for the best possible deal from energy providers, and not only takes them through the switching process, but also helps with any ‘aftercare’ issues there may be once the switch has taken place.

Coun Graham Dunn, who oversees housing issues for Chorley Council, said: “We are absolutely delighted that people are now taking advantage of our free energy switching service and that as a result, they are saving money.

The service is available at the council’s civic offices in Union Street every Monday from 9am to 5pm. Booking is essential and the hour-long appointments can be made by phoning the council on 01257 515151 or e-mailing contact@chorley.gov.uk
