Views sought on dog control order

editorial image

Preston residents are being invited to voice their views on a proposal from Preston City Council.

Preston City Council have proposed to introduce the final dogs on leads order which would mean dogs would have to be kept on leads in specified areas of the city.

If the order were to be put in place it would mean dog owners would have to keep your dog on a lead of no more than 6 feet, unless you have a reasonable excuse not to or you have been given permission by the landowner, occupier or other relevant person or authority, and must be in charge of your dog at all times.

Failure to comply with the order will result in a fine.

If you would like to comment on the above order you can call Environmental Health on 01772 906333 or e-mail info@preston.gov.uk.

Comments must be submitted by 31 October 2012.
