Specialist nurse takes help on diabetes to social media

A specialisy nurse will answer questions about how children and young people can manage diabetes as part of a Twitter chat in support of National Diabetes Awareness Week tomorrow.

Kerry Hodson, Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, will be able to advise on signs and symptoms and the best ways to manage the condition.

Kerry said: “Hopefully I can debunk a few common myths about diabetes.

“I will be on Twitter from 12pm to 1pm.”

In the UK, there are around 3.8 million people who have diabetes alongside 630,000 people who have Type 2 diabetes but don’t know they have it because they haven’t been diagnosed.

Kerry will also be joined by Paediatric Diabetes Consultant Dr Ash Kale.
