A health scheme which helps people to stay fit has received a funding boost.

Ribble Valley Borough Council has been running its healthy lifestyles scheme on behalf of health sector partners since 2001, since which more than 5,000 residents with a range of health problems have taken part.

Now the programme, run in conjunction with Public Health Lancashire and the East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group, has received funding for a further two years.

Healthy Lifestyles offers a range of classes for people with specific health needs, such as heart complaints and weight management, as well as long-term conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease.

Call the healthy lifestyles team on 01200 414484.
