University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay has appointed five new non executive directors as part of its sweeping leadership changes.
Sir David Henshaw, chairman of the struggling foundation trust hospital, said the roles had been much sought after, with more than 70 applications resulting in “an extremely strong field of candidates.”
The new directors are Peter Armer, Helen Denton, Denis Lidstone, John Hutton and Melanie Weeks.
Sir David said: “Non executive directors have a critical role in helping our hospitals become the best in the country at providing, safe, compassionate, high quality patient care.
“Our hard working and dedicated staff are making good progress on the journey to turning our trust around and I am confident that the varied perspective and experiences of the new non executive directors, together with our two existing non executive directors, will further strengthen this progress.”
