THE 13th Annual Health Mela is being held at the Guild Hall in Preston on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
The Mela aims to unite local communities to talk about their health and wellbeing and encourage members of the community to take responsibility for their health.
Amongst the checks on offer throughout the day are blood sugar and cholesterol testing, height and weight assessment and hearing and eye sight checks.
Several of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s services, including the Fit Squad, Diabetes Services, Older Adult Mental Health services and the Quit Squad, will be on hand at the venue all day hoping to talk to as many people as possible about their health and wellbeing.
Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care said: “We are delighted to once again be a part of such a worthy and commendable event. The Health Mela is a really useful resource for the people of Preston and surrounding areas. It is a great way of raising awareness of health issues and things that can be done to improve overall health and wellbeing.”
