A city-wide games festival is to become an annual event for Preston.
This year’s Guild City Games are set to take place over three weekends in June and July, with new sports including ultimate frisbee, cycling and archery.
And leaders have encouraged businesses from across Preston to take part in the games.
Preston Council’s cabinet member for Guild culture and leisure, Coun Veronica Afrin, said: “I’m very excited that the City Games is now an annual event in Preston.
“Working with our partners ensures the use of world class facilities for the City Games along with business networking opportunities to get the message out to organisations.
“Get your business into shape and join us, there’s something for everyone.”
The aim of the games is to promote participation in sport and physical activity for companies throughout Lancashire, and is hosted in Preston.
Sports on offer include football, rounders, netball, cycling, archery, ultimate frisbee, golf, team fitness challenge, table tennis, badminton, basketball, dragon boat racing, and St Catherine’s Moonlight and Memories walk. Partners in the games are UCLan, North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Preston BID and Shout Network.
