Green-fingered enthusiasts picked up tips on how to improve their gardens at an annual plant sale.

Lancashire’s gardening guru Bill Blackledge was guest of honour at the annual St Catherine’s Hospice Plant and Pre-loved Goods Sale held in the beautiful grounds of the Lostock
Hall hospice.

There was plenty on offer for gardening enthusiasts and novices including a host of top quality plants on sale stalls selling a range of pre-loved goods including clothes, accessories, books, DVDs, bric-a-brac and more.

Emma Jacovelli, fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who came along and supported our annual plant sale, which raised a fantastic £6,319 to support the care of the hospice.

“The atmosphere in the grounds on the day was buzzing - with Radio Lancashire’s Outdoors programme broadcasting live, and Bill Blackledge passing on his wisdom to other green-fingered gardeners. We had some beautiful plants for sale which went down really well with our visitors and helped raise vital funds.

“It is always great to welcome people into our gorgeous hospice grounds, and we hope we gave people a little bit of inspiration to take home with them to use in their own gardens.”
