Girls can't get enough of a-door-able lookalike Mark

This Lancashire doorman has no problem dealing with rowdy revellers – until they ask him where his famous partner is.

Mark Prendergast, 37, from Leyland, claims people regularly stop him thinking he is Welsh rugby union player Gavin Henson, the other half of songstress and television presenter Charlotte Church, 22.

Married father-of-one Mark, who also works for Leyland-based security firm The Kudos Group, said: "My wife jokes about the amount of time I spend getting myself ready in the bathroom but I can honestly say I've never tried to look like Gavin Henson.

"My family is Welsh and I used to play rugby when I was younger but I hadn't been aware of the similarity until I started working the doors.

"It started with the hen parties. I remember one woman did a double take and said, 'look, it's Gavin Henson'. Another asked me where Charlotte was.

"Somebody once asked me if I'd stopped playing rugby and said I was a better doorman than I was a fly-half!"

Mark works at clubs in Manchester and says the attention he receives peaks when 26-year-old Gavin hits the headlines.

He said: "I dread it when him or Charlotte are in the news because it starts all over again.

"Mind you there are a lot worse looking rugby players to be confused with so I shouldn't really complain."
