Girl dragged down alley and raped

A MASKED man grabbed a terrified South Yorkshire teenager and dragged her down an alley where he proceeded to rape her.

The 16-year-old girl was walking along Wath Road towards Mexbrough Town Centre at around 8.25pm on Tuesday June 30.

As the girl, who police says lives locally, approached the junction she became aware that she was being followed by a vehicle.

A man thought to be from the vehicle then grabbed the girl and pulled her down an alleyway where he proceeded to rape her.

The girl managed to struggle free during the ordeal and ran to safety.

Her attacker is described as white, five feet nine inch tall and was wearing a balaclava.

Anyone with information is asked to call DS Richard Partridge or DC Richard Clarke on Sheffield 2202020.
