Keen wildlife explorers are being urged to head to RSPB Leighton Moss on June 22 to take part in the reserve’s first ever Big Wild Stocktake.
In a race against the clock, the event involves finding and identifying as much of the reserve’s wildlife as possible over a 24 hour period.
Experts will be on-site the night before finding all the wildlife that comes out after dark, with the public invited to come along to Leighton Moss the next day to continue the important search.
There will be a Big Wild Birdsong walk taking place from 7am until 9.30am, costing £5 per adult (RSPB members £2)and a chance to Meet the Mini Mammals of the Moss event, from 8.30am until 9.30am costing is £10 per family (RSPB member family £4). Booking is essential.
