Garstang students’ Guild Wheel trek raises £1,000

Four year 10 pupils from Garstang Community Academy walked the Preston Guild Wheel for Sport Relief. Charlotte Procter, Lucy Davies, Lorna Dunkley and Caryn Jones took 8 hours and 55 minutes to complete the 21 mile challenge.

Four year-10 pupils from Garstang Community Academy walked the Preston Guild Wheel for Sport Relief and raised more than £1,000.

Delighted with their achievement, they are Charlotte Procter, Lucy Davies, Lorna Dunkley and Caryn Jones, whoc took eight hours and 55 minutes to complete the 21 mile challenge.

The Preston Guild Wheel is a 21 mile “Greenway” that encircles the city of Preston, linking the city to the countryside. It is both a walking and cycling route. Built by the county council with the support of Preston City and the input of volunteers from the Guild Wheel Users Group, the Guild Wheel has been created as a lasting legacy for the 2012 Preston Guild.
