A group of 35 visually impaired people has enjoyed five days of outdoor sports.
The trip to the Eric Wright Water Park Adventure Centre in Coniston was hosted by Penwortham-based Galloway’s Society for the Blind.
As part of the week long activities, members were able to try out Ghyll Scrambling, kayaking, climbing 60ft trees and abseiling down, assault courses, speed boating and much more. Three members were proud to receive their level one qualification in speed boating.
Lyn Garside, activities co-ordinator at Galloway’s said: “We’ve been going to Water Parks for some years now and the difference it makes to people living with a visual impairment astonishes me.
“Our holiday to Water Parks gives visually impaired people the chance to do something they never thought would be possible, we see people come as strangers and go home with many new friends, able to tell tales of things that they’ve done throughout the week, things that they never thought possible.”
