A sponsored walk in aid of the Royal British Legion Nurses takes place on Saturday.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in Birch Avenue, Penwortham, have appointed the association as their charity of the year.
They are now embarking on numerous fundraising activities to enable the nurses to bring more to elderly clients in the area.
The walk is it is starting from Sainsbury’s at 4pm and ends at The Royal British Legion club in Brownedge Road, Lostock Hall, at approximately 6pm.
Staff intend to complete it in fancy dress with a military theme, as it also coincides with World Peace Day.
The Royal British Legion Nurses is a charitable body set up last year out of a partnership between the Legion and Dementia UK.
The nurses are provided to support a better quality of life for those with dementia, their carers and families within the community.
The scheme was first launched in Lancashire, then widened to cover the West Midlands.
