Town is lit up by colourful costumes for popular event

It is an annual Boxing Day tradition where competitors in fancy dress race along the streets of Longridge raising money for local charities.

And the participants in this year’s Pram Race didn’t disappoint.

Setting off from the Towneley Arms, Berry Lane in the middle of Longridge, more than 50 teams set off in their colourful gear. Participants donned an array of fancy dress outfits, including Snow White, Cinderella and Tinkerbell in one team.

There was also a team made up of the ‘walking dead’ and a group dressed as garden gnomes.

And the rain didn’t stop crowds from gathering to see the fundraisers take part in the event.

Organised by the Longridge Field Day Committee, the event raised funds for their organisation and the local JWU Foundation in memory of 15-year-old Josh Unsworth who died in April this year.
