Folk in Chorley are taking advantage of a free service to help them with their heating bills and to travel to medical appointments.
Aimed at people aged over 65, the Chorley Council Keep Warm and Well campaign, which runs throughout the winter, is proving a huge success. Councillor Bev Murray, responsible for older people’s welfare, said: “We launched the service in December and so far there’s been more than 200 requests for the various free services we offer.
“And in some cases, energy advice given has saved some clients between £80 and £640 a year on home fuel bills.”
The scheme finishes at the end of March.
