The proposed new location for the branch is the Spar Store, at 29 Lytham Road, Freckleton – 200 metres from the present Freckleton Post Office at 22 Preston Old Road.
Post Office bosses are now inviting customers to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.
Should the more go ahead, the branch would open from 7.30am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. This would offer an extra 60 hours of Post Office service every week.
The proposed move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network which bosses say is designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
Adrian Wales, regional manager said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Freckleton and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
The consultation will close on December 18. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or on 08457 22 33 44.
The Post Office is proposing to relocate its Freckleton branch to a new location.
