Foreign Office Minister visits Preston

A Government minister has paid a visit to Preston to discuss issues including the war in Afghanistan.

Ivan Lewis MP, the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, was in the city to discuss with students Britain's involvement in Afghanistan.

He delivered a speech at the University of Central Lancashire before visiting the Lancashire Evening Post offices in Fulwood for a debate, chaired by LEP editor Simon Reynolds.

The Labour MP's responsibilities include the Middle East, counter terrorism, South East Asia and Far East, North America, drugs and international crime and migration.
