An appeal to help families hit by flooding in Lancashire has reached more than £350,000.

The Lancashire Flood Recovery Appeal was launched in December, and more donations are expected.

Grants from public and corporate donations have started to reach those affected by the deluge, after the Community Foundation for Lancashire announced the appeal would be extended to help those who have had their homes damaged by the most recent flood water.

Cathy Elliott, chief executive of the Community Foundation for Lancashire said: “We will continue to work with the local councils across the county to identify individuals and families who need our support.

“We would like to say thank you to all the generous people in Lancashire and across the UK who have donated to our appeal.”

Organisations and families can apply online at www.lancsfloodappeal.org.uk.
