Demolition of a set of flats will begin on Thursday, as part of a redevelopment programme in Preston.
Staff from Community Gateway Association (CGA)will be on site at the flats in Yew Tree Avenue and Fir Trees Avenue in Grange, Ribbleton, from 2pm.
Once flattened, the flats will be replaced by a new development of 34 homes, scheduled to be completed by early 2015.
A spokesman for CGA said: “This has been an exciting time for the community who have been involved in the decision not only of the demolition but also about the homes replacing them.”
This is the latest in a series of demolition works undertaken by CGA since it took over the housing stock from Preston Council in November 2005.
In 2007, 28 boarded-up, trouble-hit flats in the Crummock Road area were removed, and the former sheltered housing complex, Deepdale House in Peel Hall Street, was flattened in 2008.
