They were the couple who captured the nation’s hearts when they wed on live TV.

And now Frazer and Kate are celebrating their first Christmas together as Mr and Mrs Seed.

The happy couple won their dream wedding in a national competition on breakfast show, Daybreak.

Eight months after being the first couple to wed on a British beach, Kate, 24, from Lostock Hall, said: “We’re still getting recognised from being on TV; people shout ‘Congratulations’ to us is in the street.

“Married life is treating me well, nothing has really changed apart from my name.

“Though it is a little strange when people call me Mrs Seed or refer to Frazer as my husband but I’m getting used to it.”

Frazer said: “The wedding was a whirlwind and the honeymoon cruise made a lovely break from all the rushing around.

“I’m enjoying being a newly married man and getting accustomed to having a wife or spouse rather than girlfriend

The couple garnered thousands of viewers votes to win the competition after viewers heard how Frazer proposed as Kate lay in A and E after a serious car smash last year. She suffered catastrophic injuries and spent two weeks in intensive care and five weeks in hospital.

Frazer, 32, a project manager for the Typhoon final assembly at Warton BAES said: “It’s not all been plain sailing since the wedding. Kate was still struggling to walk and post investigation discovered another fracture in her ankle so another operation, a cast and 3 months later the doctors have now said she can start to bear weight on her foot and ween herself off the crutches.”

Kate is hoping to be back at work as a barrista at Starbuck’s Fishergate branch in January.

She said: “They have been brilliant and held my job for me so I’m looking forward to getting back to work hopefully in the New Year.”

The couple are planning to return to Bournemouth, where they were married, for their first year anniversary and will spend Christmas visiting family in Wales.

Frazer said: “Come Christmas Day it will be nice to have a dance with my wife.

“I’d like to let everyone who supported us know that their votes weren’t wasted, I love Kate more than ever and this is just the start of our story together.

“Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! I’ve already got everything I want.”
