Preston Fire Service has sent out a warning after a shed was set on fire this morning.

The incident at Serpentine Allotments on Blackpool Road, saw a shed set on fire at around 10.20am and an investigation is now ongoing to track down the culprits.

Firefighters were at the scene for over an hour says watch manager Mark Woodward, who has issued a message to shed and allotment owners over the Halloween period.

He said: "The shed was set on fire deliberately and was well alight when we arrived. We had to use two pumps to stop the blaze spreading to any nearby allotments. As we are coming up to the Halloween and bonfire season, it is important anyone who owns a shed makes sure it is secure and locked. Also if anyone sees any suspicious activity, they should call 101 and report it immediately."
