Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze that broke out at a recycling plant in Preston.

Two fire engines went to Sita at Redscar Industrial Estate in Longridge Road at about 8pm on Tuesday, after a fire was discovered within a mixed waste site.

Ten firefighters used two hose reels to tackle the blaze, and a digger was used to move about three tonnes of material to make sure the fire was fully out.

Crews were on the scene for two hours putting out the fire, thought to have started accidentally.

Nobody was hurt.
