Here are all the changes to bin collections across Preston, Chorley and South Ribble over the Christmas and New Year period.

In Preston, alternate bin collections will continue over the Christmas period, however, there will be no collections on the following days:

• Christmas Day

• Monday 28 December

• New Year’s Day

Recycling collections affected by the festivities will not be rearranged, and all recycling will be collected at your next scheduled collection.

The advice given for any additional recycling is to put it out in untied carrier bags during the next scheduled collection.

Brown bin (compost) collections will stop from Friday December 11, 2015 and will resume Monday January 11, 2016.

In Chorley, there will be no garden waste collections on December 28 and December 29.

Last collection days for Chorley:

• Bulky collections: December 21

• Electrical waste: December 23

• Clinical collections: December 24 and December 31

• Bag round collections: December 24 and December 31

The household waste recycling centre in Coppull Road, Chorley, will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, but is open from 8am to 5pm all other days.

In South Ribble, the new dates for the grey bins are:

• Christmas Day: December 22

• Boxing Day: December 23

• New Year’s Day: December 29

Households which would normally have their recycling collected on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day will miss a collection.

The next dates for recycling are:

• Christmas Day: January 8

• Boxing Day: January 9

• New Year’s Day: January 15

• The last green waste bins will be picked up on December 19.

The household waste recycling centre in Flensburg Way is open daily from 9am to 6pm, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
