Thousands of pounds raised from the Leyland Festival has now been donated to charity.
Tim Burridge, President of the Rotary Club of Leyland, presented a cheque for £5,500 to the group’s chosen charities.
Among those to benefit will be The Rosemere Cancer Foundation, DEBRA, St Catherine’s Hospice, Sue Ryder and Galloway’s Society for the Blind. The British Commercial Vehicle Museum also received a donation in recognition of the role they play and the support they give to the festival. The remainder of the money raised by groups at the festival will be used to establish the Festival Spirit Fund, which will benefit local good causes. The popular festival, which attracts thousands of people to enjoy a day out for all the family, is set to return on June 21.
A total of £10,000 was raised through the festival which saw a parade through the town, and attractions on Worden Park.
