Withnell Fold WI - July 2008

At the July meeting members greatly enjoyed a Folk Dance evening presented by Maureen Hartley.

Of particular interest was a dance called "White Coppice" (named after a nearby village) and everyone enjoyed joining in the variety of dances explained.

After a pleasant but tiring dance routine members enjoyed relaxing to a demonstration of Scarf Tieing given by Mira Huck.

The variety of methods used made one realise how a brightly coloured scarf carefully tied can add so much to an outfit.

Birthday flowers were presented to Enid Paine and the competition for a coloured scarf was won by Ruby Atherton, with a batik patterned scarf.

Members have recently enjoyed a visit to Radio Lancashire and continue the Summer Strollers.

The next meeting on 20th August includes Hearing Dogs presented by Mary and John Broster.

The competition is for a dog ornament and members are reminded that there is a Bring and Buy Sale.
