Farm animals were led to safety by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a barn near Garstang.
The fire in Cabus Nook Lane, Cabus was spotted at around 9pm on Boxing Day and involved stores of straw, hay and barley.
Several animals were rescued unharmed by fire service personnel.
Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus to tackle to blaze. A brigade spokesman said: “It was under control pretty much straight away. The farmer acted quickly and used his tractor to get burning bales out.”
Ten tons of straw and four tons of hay and barley were destroyed along with 30 per cent of the barn.
