There are clear signs that the market is picking up, according to Farrell Heyworth, Preston, branch manager, Stephen Myerscough.
But to give yourself the best chance of selling quickly, Stephen, who has 10 years’ experience in the estate agency and financial services industry, has some valuable advice for vendors.
He says: “Every now and then properties can take a little longer than expected to sell which can be frustrating for a vendor and for us as a selling agent,
“Presentation is always key.
“Make sure every single room is looking at its best for viewings.
“Try to keep the external appearance and gardens tidy.
“First impressions go a long way to improving your chances of getting an offer.
“Without a doubt the kitchen seems to be the most important room in the house for any modern buyer.
“Most first time buyers now want the wow factor in a kitchen, a room where they can entertain friends.
“And for the family buyer, a large open kitchen/dining area always seems to top the list of requirements.”
Stephen’s team comprises: Chris Plumpton, marketing advisor; Victoria Iddon, enior sales negotiator; Hannah Bass, sales negotiator; Tracie Sampson, viewing assistant; Tony Medley, mortgage adviser; Rachel Ayre, lettings manager and Karen Grady, lettings property co-ordinator.
“I really enjoy what I do, but I know only too well that buying or selling a property can be a very stressful experience.
“The satisfaction of helping our clients with a smooth transaction is definitely the most rewarding part of the job.”
