The Lancashire Green Awards are back again for a fifth year, with Remsol as the principal sponsor of the awards.
Today we are featuring the Green Retailer Award.
This is open to all outlets and internet retailers, and any size of business can enter.
The retailer must demonstrate how they are tackling environmental issues and how they deliver their service to the consumers.
Initiatives may include organic products, alternative packaging, recycling, educating the consumer with regards to greener purchasing habits as well as commitment to improving green credentials
Preston-based waste and environmental management specialist Remsol is the principal sponsor of this year’s Lancashire Green Awards, keen on practicing what they preach, environmental issues have always played an important role in the company’s day-to-day operations and this isn’t the first time that the company has become involved in such a campaign.
The firm, which helps organisations from across the UK to cut waste, recycle more and save money, is already known for its Big Green Calendar competition, which encouraged primary school children from over 400 schools across Lancashire to contribute. Last year, youngsters submitted hundreds of green-themed drawings which were whittled down to 36 winning entries, compiled into a calendar and sold to help raise money for the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
Remsol managing director Lee Petts said: “We’re very excited to be involved in the Green Awards, an issue that’s very close to our hearts.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing the nominations and reading about the county’s best success stories.”
