Nigel Evans, MP for the Ribble Valley, has secured a meeting with planning minister Nick Boles MP along with County Councillors
Albert Atkinson, Stuart Hirst and Councillor Terry Hill.
The meeting, due to take place at Westminster later this month, is to argue against excessive development in Ribble Valley.
Mr Evans said: “Councillors Atkinson, Hirst, Hill and I have been keen to set a meeting of this kind for some time now.
“There is clearly a wealth of feeling all over the country and particularly in the Ribble Valley about the direction in which planning policy is going.
“Many residents’ groups have been set up where communities are worried about how national decisions are affecting local planning choices.
“I think it right that the planning minister is prepared to meet with local residents so that they can get across their legitimate concerns.”
On Saturday afternoon Clitheroe Councillor Ian Brown and Mr Evans met protesters form Clitheroe objecting to the building over 1,000 houses on the Standen on the edge of Clitheroe, affecting green field sites.
Coun Brown said: “My personal view is that there are too many houses proposed for Clitheroe and of the wrong type .
“We need to provide affordable and first time buyer homes for those starting on the housing ladder and more adapted accommodation for the elderly.”
