Christmas trees recycled by rangers

Waiting for Video...

After packing away the decorations for another year, people took their Christmas trees to Ashton Park to be recycled.

Scores of people turned up to dispose of their festive foliage in a green way.

Park rangers were on hand yesterday afternoon to chip trees and turn them into compost to be used on Preston’s parks.

In Chorley residents took their trees to Yarrow Valley Country Park, Birkacre Road, to be recycled. Christmas trees can also be taken to any one of the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Tom Benson Way, Preston; Flesburg Way, Farington; Chapel Hill Road, Longridge; or Coppull Road, Chorley.
