A man who has devoted his life to nature conservation has been honoured with a top award.
David Mower, of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, was presented with the Bittern Award.
The award is made annually by the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a special contribution towards conservation and enhancement of the area.
The award was presented by Brian Meakin, chairman of the AONB Partnership, at its annual conference.
Annabel Rushton, of the RSPB, said: “David is incredible. He has worked tirelessly for wildlife and conservation at RSPB Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay nature reserve for 27 years.
“David’s working life has been devoted to the creation and management of homes for nature.”
