Keen wildlife enthusiasts and LEP readers have been out and about in the glorious summer sunshine snapping these fantastic photographs.

Ron Foster spotted a heron in flight and later looking for his next meal in the Lea area of Preston as well as a deer enjoying a frolic in a nearby field. Reader Diane Flynn from Preston has been making sure she’s looking after the wildlife in her garden by feeding the squirrels who pay her a visit for peanuts and also managing to take some up close candid snaps.

And George Suffield of Hutton is calling on fellow twitchers to identify a bird he found in his garden earlier this month.

George said: “We had the pleasure of following this bird around our garden but have no idea what species it is.”

If you know what type of bird George spied or if you’ve got some pictures you’d like to share, get in touch with lep.newsdesk@lep.co.uk or call 01772 838109.
