Electricity engineers from Lancashire are helping restore power to storm-hit areas in southern England.
Electricity North West, the company that owns and maintains the North West’s electricity network, has stepped to provide 50 engineers and linesmen to restore power to those affected.
At the height of the storm, 620,000 customers were without power.
Greg Fernie, operations director for Electricity North West, said: “Thankfully the storm did not affect the North West, although we always monitor conditions closely to ensure that we have engineers available to respond to incidents in our area too.
“Our engineers have worked tirelessly to restore power in the south and will continue to help for as long as necessary.”
